Car sharing

As one of the founders of Just-Roomies.com, the global platform for finding roommates, I also have my own experiences when it comes to house-sharing and variants on this theme. The world will look different when you consider how much you can share. I think that the library is the oldest institution in this respect. More contemporary is sharing your car.

Car is easy anyway
After I have finished my other business activities, the car and engine of the business have also disappeared. What now? For me personally it was good to take the step to public transport, but it's not the best solution for everything. I have to arrange appointments at locations that are so remote that it takes almost a day to get there. So buy a car?

Solutions
Then my kids came up with the idea to take a look at Car2go or similar initiatives! What a great solution, easy to arrange per app, but where I live there was unfortunately nothing to find. What we did find was Snappcar. A company that offers individuals the opportunity to rent out their own car. With this app there was plenty of offer in my home area represented. So download app, become a member, enter data and choose car. How easy can it be!

In practice
A car is still an extension of someone's living room, so what kind of cars will you end up in? Of course, all value to his money is also applicable here. Almost new cars cost more than older ones and that is exactly what makes this solution so good. When I go for a day out with Grandpa & Grandma, I just rent a different type of car than when I have to heap a lot of stuff. And yes, one car is perfectly clean, the other a little less, but if you look at the costs, you take that for granted.

So…
In other words: if you are prepared to appreciate the solution of 'sharing', you will make a huge difference to the costs. That is also how it is with a home. Everyone immediately understands that sharing also requires customization, but if you have found the right roommate and apartment after a nice selection process, that is fantastic!

If you suddenly have a lot more money left, or you can suddenly start living in the place you always dreamed of, your life will look so much nicer!
